On the lake at 3:00 PM. The 20 to 30 MPH winds today accomplished "ice out " for 80% of the lake. When I started fishing there was ten feet of ice shrads in the water in front of the dock at the the launch site. This condition also exixisted 100 yards down the north shore to the west. the wind kept moving this body of ice up the shore to the east all the time I was there and it all went by the launch site by 4:40 PM.
I caught my first 18" Brown Trout at 3:50, my 2nd at 4:05, my 3rd at 4:22, and my 4th at 4:36 and a 16" brown at 5:04.
I looked at my watch as I released each fish, so I know the time of each catch.
These fish were beautiful with a yellowish tinge on their silver sides between their spots, and all were fat and sassy fighters. Think I'll go back tommorow as I don't have to be at work until 3:00PM.
