Took the canoe out on Greenlake again. This time the wind was up so I got a good workout battling it for the few hours I was out. I hit the lake about 1pm, launched off the beach near the tennis courts. The wind was blowing to the north/west, so at least I knew I wouldn't have to put much effort into getting back to shore! I rowed out to the back side of the island and dropped a floating nightcrawler and a little weight (same as last week). figured I would start with that until I could get out into the middle of the lake. I wanted to try for browns this time, so I planned to troll a rapala along the edge of the lilly pads, but with the wind I wasn't sure if I would get there or not. I headed for the middle of the lake(paddling like a madman) and not 5 minutes went by and I had my 1st fish on - and what do ya know.. A nice little brown about 15-16"! Goal accomplished! Of course once I got him in I was almost back to the island again. So I trolled back out a 2nd time, then would set anchor and still fish for awhile, then troll cross-wind awhile, then stop & rest. Did this until about 3pm. Tried the Rapala and a couple of flat fish with no luck. Had one more strike on a worm, but that was all. The wind and clouds were constant, the rain was not bad - came and went, came and went, the water was about 47.
