Met up with the infamous shawn. This was my maiden voyage for my new tube. The Trout Unlimited Togiak. I will put up a product review in the forum so check it out. Well, first thanks to shawn for letting me borrow waders and fins. I appreciate it bro.
So for the report - We hit the water by mid afternoon and it turned out to be a great day to fish. Basically, shawn killed it! And I couldn't find a bass to save my life. I started tossing everything at the closed lip bucketmouths as I watched shawn fight trout after trout. He was flyfishing, trolling an olive wollybugger. I could only take so much after only getting one hit all day so I switched it up and tied on one of my white Lip Ripperz jig. After watching the trout rise on the recent hatch littering the waters surface, I began to chase down the one that apperead to be the largest slurping up the skeletons of the bugs right off the waters surface that had turned to glass. With the perfect cast and a convincing twitch, I tied into the fattest bow for me this year. This beautifully colored fish was very chunky and healthy. After a great fight and some netting assistance from shawn the fish of the day was landed. She measured every bit of 15". With the skunk of my back we called it a day at dusk. shawn ended with 3 netted rainbows and 2 that came unbottoned. Water was 50 degrees and the trout were very active. No stockers just yet, but it sounds like they are coming soon. I will be back out there hunting the big bass just to prove to you all that they do exist. Until next time, hope to see you on the water.

sounds like you did the same thing I did. I know all about the bass in the lake. Go to Sportsmen's and pick up some pumpkin orange claw power bait craws and fish with the smallest weight you can cast and give the bass another try. Its hard to keep going for LMB when the trout are boiling the top like they are. chat the.outdoorsman@hotmail.com want to see if your fishing some of the smaller ponds in Kitsap and Mason.
