First time this year out on Banks. All the ice is gone and it felt great to be pulling bottom bouncers again. Didn't get on the water until 130pm today and when we finally found the fish we fished for about 2 hours. 2 Walleyes and 1 really fat perch. We had 3 other fish on that we lost and missed a few bites. Weather started getting nasty so we called it a day. We will be out there again tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

Good fishing

Joe

Holy shnizit, that's a beast of a perch!!!! I'll bet he fought well for his size. As my little bro would say, that's a total catch and release fish.....catch and release into a hot pan of grease! mmmmm

Nice report. How big were the walleyes and what kind of water temp did you have?

Very nice to hear an encouraging report. I wish I had the gas $ to hit Little Falls before it closes the 1st. I will be watching for banks lake reports, thanks.

Water temp was 42 the first day, stayed around 39 the 2nd day but thats all surface temp anyway. We caught 6 in two days and day 1 we fished for 4 hours, only 2 of those were after we found the spot. Day 2 we fished for 3.5 hours due to a snow storm in the morning over there. 1 Dink in the 6 we caught. All fish were males except that Perch. The biggest walleye was just over 18 inches. Nothing huge but man it felt good to be back out on Banks again.

Any idea how much that perch weighed? I'm see the state record is only 2lbs 12oz. That fish was caught in 1968 though. I would be interested to know how much that fish weighed.
