My partner and I arrived at about 0945. Mostly sunny with winds from the south at 10-15 MPH. Surface water temp still very low, 41 degrees. We headed south and fished the flats. In five hours of fishing we managed only a dozen rainbows, ranging from 12-18", between the two of us. Most were caught on a skip nymph fished under a strike indicator. A few others took olive and red chironomid patterns. Fish seemed most active between 1100 and 1200. Zero takes and fish on blood worm patterns. About a dozen other fishermen on the lake, all of whom caught at least a few, but everyone was of the opinion that it was a slow day. Additionally, and in my opinion, the average size of the fish seems to have dropped off dramatically compared to past years. I can't help it.....I'm spoiled!
