I went out with my buddy for a little while yesterday. We headed over to my cutthroat hole and I dropped my 1/2 oz weight down and just wasn't liking how much line I had to have out to reach the bottom. So I switched to a 1 oz. and let it down to the bottom let the motor pick up my weight and kept that much line out and within 5 minutes I hooked and landed a 3 pound cutthroat! Trolled back through there a few times and picked up a couple more in the 1-2 pound range.
Look in the slack water areas for the abundant stockers they are feeding on the numerous bug supply and are in the top 4 feet of water.
The water was at 50-53 degrees so I went to try for some bass and they aren't in the shallows yet. I'm headed out today hope to find a bucket mouth!
