Fished yesterday and had no luck. Took the boat around the whole lake fishing with a weding ring close to the surface. I've had good luck here in the past...maybe the water needs to warm up a bit?

I was talking to someone at the ramp about catching cat fish in this lake and over at hearts lake...I would like to give it a try and would appreciate any tips on bait and where to go. Thanks.

Spinners, flies and nightcrawlers are the best bet a harts. Panther Martin spinners in particular. Anytime you troll a worm try to put it on straight as an arrow and troll slowly. This method works best either rowing or in a float tube. I will go out in a tube and outfish everyone 4-1 with that tactic. Hope that helps. Also try some shrimp scent as well

For the cats use fresh oily fish fillies for bait. A piece of trout goes a long way. This time of year the cats will be on the deep edge of structure. If you have current put your bait in the front of the first deep hole so the sent will carry down into it. Cats are smell feeders so they will come to you. If you don't get bit in 15 min move.

I fished lake tanwax a couple years ago and caught a nice cat dangling a worm one foot off the bottom. Hope this helps

Trent, there is a very nice ramp about 1/4 mile west of that fish camp. It is a WDFW launch so you will need to display the permit you received with your fishing license.
Another cat lake is Swofford Pond near Mossy Rock.
