Hit up lake Alice around 4pm, the algae bloom was pretty awful. It covered most of the lake. Fishing was pretty slow at first. I had a few bumps on the fly, managed to catch one in the shallow bay farthest from the launch. We trolled around the entire lake until about 5:30 when another friend showed up and he got in, my other friend got out to fish from shore. We headed back up to the shallow bay and this time the fish were biting a lot. We just sat in the bay and cast spinners at them and kept getting hits left and right. Between the 2 of us we managed 7 fish in a 1/2 hour. It was started to get dark so we headed back in. Right after we pulled in my buddy fishing from shore caught a really nice 13" Alaskan Rainbow. All in all, it was a great day, I just hope the algae doesn't get worse. It makes for hard fishing when they can't see much.
