Hit American Lake around 9:30am. Wind was south, southwest at about 10mph, gusting maybe 15-20mph around noon. Water temperature averaged 46 degrees from the public boat launch just north of Camp Murray to Bill's Boathouse. Trolled twenty to twenty-five feet in fifty-four feet of water anywhere from twenty-five to one hundred meters from shore. Used wedding-ring tipped with a bit of night-crawler, jigged and trolled a swedish pimple, anchored and still fished with night-crawlers and powerbait anywhere from ten feet to the bottom. The hummingbird displayed plenty of fish moving through, just no takers. An uneducated guess tells me the recent weather may have curbed their appetites...or they just didn't want to play today.
