Hit Dolloff about 7:30, temp was a chilly 37. This lake is usually empty, but had more than usual amount of boaters and tubers show up after i arrived. Guess they couldn't find space at Steel Lake which is always packed on opening day. I was fishing at the boat launch using chartreuse power eggs when the tip of my pole almost touched the water. Knew I had a biggie on when he came out of the water, once, twice, thrice. I was worried he was going to snap my line but after a 5 minute struggle, i got him to shore where he promptly spit out the hook. Had to chase him to keep him from going back in the water. He was a 17 inch, 2 lb hold over. This is the 2nd biggie I've caught here in the last 2 weeks. Didn't think they even had anything like this in Dolloff. I've also been catching plants here. All in all a very good morning. Going to try and make it back there later today. Sorry no pics, cant figure out how to download them off my cell phone yet. Have a great opening day everyone.
