WOW!!

We hit the lake early in the morning--- but a LOT of guys thought early meant earlier than us--- so there were quite a few boats on the lake as we set sail from the public launch. The Other Fellow in the Boat got a new motor for the fishing vessel, so this was the "maiden voyage".

We each started our fishing with different lures--- he went with a green wedding ring, and I used a spotted #6 Rooster Tail. We both hammered Triploids within 10 minutes, showing that the TYPE of lure was not as important as WHERE you trolled. In all of our trolling, we stayed SW of the boat launch, within 100 feet of the shore--- on down to the resort on the N side of the lake and circled back on the S side on the way back to the boat launch (right by that familiar numbered tree--- you regulars know where it is!)

Nautical courtesy was the name of the game, wherewith all the boats on the lake--- and the BBs of BL have to give a hearty "WELL DONE" to the Seamanship we observed on the lake during our forays with the fish at Williams Lake. Admit it; it makes fishing a lot more relaxing when you don't have to worry about some nautical knot-head running you down...

How did we do as far as fishing? Thanks for asking; we limited-out within 2 hours. We caught 2 Triploid "whoppers", as well as Cutthroat trout and SILVERS!! The fishing trip was a great way to shake the snow out of our spirits, enjoying a clear and bright day on Williams Lake! Thanks, WDFW.
