Well....drove in from Tacoma and had a little trouble finding the Lake and once we found it, me and my stepson, we ended up driving into a little Bible Camp. Walked around a bit before deciding maybe we shouldn't disturb the residents there and decided to find a new spot. Drove up the road a little ways and found a little hidden dock area, which looked like an old picnic ground and actually got us out on the water. Some very good area, for what I wanted to catch, crappie and bass primarily. Very weedy and patches of brush and some overlying trees, unsure of the water temp, but the water seemed a bit warm.
Fished from about 5 am onto about 10 am, and I believe I had one big bite, it which the fish appeared to have fun with me, jumped up out of the water to egg me on and then that was it. And then I was fooled again by a huge piece of weed just before we left.
The lake was empty when we started and by the time we left, only saw about 2 boats in the water, and they to be just as flustered as we were.
I primarily used jigs of an assorted color, the only strikes I received were of a nice green and yellow crank bait and brown power bait. Also tried some bottom fishing as well, with nightcrawler and corned power bait...good times with the stepson, his first real fishing experience and mine as well for the State of Washington as I am a California native.
I'll be back, as I think this lake was just shy on the first date!! Keep Fishing!!
