I didn't get to the lake until 5:00 pm. For the first hour I decided to hunt for bass. I marked a few fish between 12 and 18 feet, but could not get them to bite a 4 inch swimbait or soft plastic tube on a jig. People around me were catching trout like crazy, so I decided to troll a wedding ring that had a homemade fly trailer. I caught at least 15 fish before deciding to call it a day at 8:00. All of the trout were dinks and were released unharmed. I used an el-cheap-o hook remover in an effort not to touch the fish before releasing them. I think I paid $1 for it and the thing really works! It looks like a toy pistol. All you have to do is get the wire around the hook, squeeze the trigger, and give it a jiggle.
