Me and my buddy fished Tanwax for the first time since last October. Was feelin like havin a perch fry so figured it is the place for some perch. Started out cloudy and mild, water temp on the west end was 53 degrees and the east end 54 degrees..you'd think 1 degree warmer wouldn't make a difference but...it did.By the way..what the heck with the weather guys and their fantastic forecasts? Wopplers Dopplers my rear! I know when I retire from my day job I'm becoming a weatherman..jeesh!!
Didn't have as much as a tap on the west end but when we flew across to the farthest East end (54 degrees) we got a bunch of perch. And one FAT triploid close to 2 lbs. We were using yellow crappie stingers tipped with maggots or pieces of crawlers. Off a 12 ft flat..on the bottom.
I did write that we targeted Sturgeon..I figured everyone is getting slap happy with the triploids, diploids and whatever else.So we ended up with a bunch of perch and a trip instead.
