Got to the lake around 8:30 am. The water temp was about 54° at the surface and 48° at 10'.

I began working my way from the launch to the far side with sink tip line and an Olive Willie. Caught a small bass and one decent Rainbow on the way across. Once at the far side I began using my chironomid set up (floating line with 22' leader/tippet assembly). This was very productive for the next 2 hours or so. I was using a brass colored Ice Cream Cone pattern. Using the hand twist retrieve I caught 8 good size trout (5 Rainbow and 3 Browns). One of the Browns was over 18".

The wind came up in the mid morning and it became difficult to find my strike indicator so I went back to the sinking line with a dark purple bugger. This produced 4 more Rainbows on the trip around the South end of the lake on my way back to the launch.

A good day in all.

Tight Lines!!!
