Hit Tapps around 7:30 this morning. Launched from the county park. Still no fee until next weekend; I believe. They were selling season passes though so picked one of those handy accessories up. Now, on to the fishing. WHAT A DAY!!! Water temp at the launch was 51-52. Once we ran over to the east side it was 53-54. Around 10, magic number 55 and even hit 56-57 before we left. Regardless of temp caught fish throughout the day. Caught two on a brown and orange wiggle wart, decently quick retrieve, and 6 on a cinnamon twin tail grub, fishing it on a shakey head jig, imported from Oklahoma. Here's the kicker, non of the fish were in water deeper than 6 feet. All were males so, not sure, but have reason to believe the males are moving up getting the spawning grounds ready. Hopefully the weather stays nice so fishing stays hot! Had one Tiger follow my crank bait, I'd say around 35-40 incher. He was just window shopping, wouldn't have nothing to do with the bait.

Ski boats were out which leads to the following: (I hope they read these reports)
The group in the ski boat that thought is was great wake boarding in the cove across from the bridge, NOTE: that water goes from 19-20 feet to 8-5 in a blink of an eye, so might want to be a little bit more cautious, and possibly more courteous to the fisherman that were in that cove too.

Sounds like a good day for smallies. Sorry to hear about the wake boarders.
