Wow! What a Great day! Lots of Fish, many brookies in the 14-16 inch range. Lots of Tiger Trout.
All caught right along edges of Lilly pads that are emerging. Any size 10-12 green wet fly with a little red on it, either in the tail or as a bead head, they hammered. My buddy and I caught probably 40 fish in 4 hours fishing. Many of them 15 inch plus. Also caught one giant Tiger Trout at 27", about 8lbs.Check out the photo. We saw more of these big fish in the lake.
This one has to be from the first planting of these fish in the lake 5 years ago. It was quiet on the lake with only one or two other boats out an any time. Water is high. Cloudy day with a breeze. Saw very little insect activity. If you fish this lake fish tight to the shore and fish your fly right above the emerging pads, in a week or so when the pads are up fish right along the pad line. That's where the fish will be until the water warms.
