Hit Banks lake this past weekend.

Friday night I tried for Crappies for an hour, not happening.

Gave Walleyes a shot for 2 1/2 hours and caught 2 keepers, 1 dink and lost one other.

Saturday fished from 7-3 in one area and caught my largest walleye ever in the states. Just over 7lbs, 28 inches long. Released. Me and my partner caught 3 other keepers ranging from 16-22 inches. Caught 6 dinks as well. Wind got nasty we went in.

I went solo to another spot out of the wind for a few hours and caught 1 keeper, 1 dink and had a fish that was near 22-24 inches up to the boat and my fireline broke. Remember when you pull bottom bouncers through the rocks to check for fraid often. I was upset.

Sunday I fished from 0630 to 1030. Much slower. Caught 1 keeper, 1 dink and 1 12 inch perch.

All in all I went home with food and had a great time on what is proving again to be the best walleye fishery in this state. I haven't fished them all but I haven't heard of anything that produces like this lake and oddly enough I think it was kind of slow this weekend.

Nothing is working all that great but everything will catch you fish. I pulled smiley blades, spinners, plain floats and spin and glows and all produced but nothing tore it up. Jigs didn't work and neither did blade baits.

Good fishing.

Joe
