Launched the dinghy around 4:30 pm and fished until 8:00. I brought four ultralight rigs -- 2 for bass and 2 for trout. Unfortunately, I didn't catch squat. For trout I tried spinners, wedding rings and small jigs. For bass I tried a 4-inch bright red curly-tail grub (rigged Texas-style) and a small rapala minnow.

I had several bites on the east side of the lake, but didn't hook anything. I rarely get skunked on Cassidy -- especially when I'm throwing that little rapala. It was just a bad day to fish. The only people catching anything were the guys throwing powerbait from shore -- and they weren't catching many. Weather was probably the biggest factor. Air temperature fluctuated from cold to warm then back to cold, and the wind was constantly changing speed and direction. At least it didn't rain...
