Had a few hours to kill today so my buddy and I went to Clear lake to see if there were any holdovers to be had.I just love launching my boat there being that the launch is so shallow .I always dang near have to drive my truck out in the middle of the lake to get the boat off the trailer. There was still a few patches of snow here and there but its pretty much gone.Water was a bit on the cold side(43-47 degrees)and the wind was blowing off and on which is usual weather for this time of year.Started out trolling Castmasters and Cleo spoons.Could see fish on the bottom so we shut off the motor and wind drifted a worm off the bottom still nothing.next thing was to snap on a Diawa SC shiner and almost immediately started catching fish.nothing any size just the usual 9-10 inch planters. After a couple of hours the rain decided to fall so we cut our trip short. On the way back we were looking at Rimrock lake and man that thing is low.Gotta be 40-50 ft. low or so.Gotta be fun putting a boat in there right now.maybe one of these next trips I'll remember to put my camera back in the truck.

No I am sure it has to be still snowed in though.I heard theres still over 5 ft. of snow up on top of the pass.I did try to show my buddy where Thunder & lightning were located up above the jubilee campground but it started getting a bit nasty on the road and i was pulling a boat so i didnt make it there either.I wasnt far below the lower of the two which I believe is Thunder.
