Finally had a real good day at Medical. Arrived at 1245. Fished the north end. Water temp 55, air the same with heavy, swirling winds. No takes at all for the first hour while kick-finning around with an olive leech pattern. A heavy chironomid hatch was coming off at this time, with hundreds (literally...I've never before seen that many on Medical) of swallows scooping them up. Fish that I marked were suspended at 12-14 feet. A good bite started at 1:45 and lasted until 3:15. Twelve hook-ups yielded five rainbows and two browns to net. Rainbows ran from 17-22" with one 11" dink thrown in. Browns both 17". No tigers today. Several rainbows came unbuttoned, most while in mid-air.....I've said it before and I'll say it again....the rainbows in Medical are the strongest, healthiest, fastest, most acrobatic of any lake fish I've seen in eastern Washington. Something is wrong with them! Just kidding...they sure are a lot of fun and will definitely test your skills!

Very nice! It's not too far from downtown Spokane, is it?! What a great report. Can't wait to C&R these fish with the fly rod in the late summer. Great report and it's nice to see the C&R. Tight Lines! KTK
