Stopped by our property in Mason County, grabbed the boat and went off to Cushman. Got on the water around 1:30pm. Began trolling rainbow kasmaster in 15ft. depth. About 10 minutes in, hooked the first kokanee of the day. We caught around 20 kokes, C&R all but 3. Also caught about 6-7 cutthroats. Largest cutt. was 18 inches and had some fight. C&R all cutthroats. Unknown water temp. A slight breeze out of the west, mostly overcast conditions. But a great day on the water with the family.

I'd like to take the family out to the old State Park this summer. Which end of the lake is most productive?

Good job Kevinb. Sounds like you had a busy time on the water which is always nice.

Great report! I haven't been up there for several years now.
As I remember the end by the Dam was best for Kokanee and the upper end was better for trout.

Thanks all

Summer time, the most productive seems to be the middle up to the far northwest. The water seems to be just a degree or 2 colder and from my experience the cutts and kokes prefer the cooler water in the hot summer months. Hope this helps a little. Kokanee lake is another great spot to try.
