Fished Downs Lake today with my father-in-law and grandfather-in-law for the second time ever. The weather was windy and cloudy with sporadic rain, but the trip was already planned so we went in search of bass without "low-pressure lockjaw". Fished all day with only moderate success. The bites we were getting were very light and not aggressive at all and made it difficult to detect strikes and set the hook. Finally, at about 2:00 we boated our first bass and finished at 4:30 with four in the boat (2@3/4#, 1@1 1/4#, and 1@1 1/2#) and no one skunked. We will definitely return to this lake since the fish finder wouldn't stop beeping, all we need is a little better weather!
