Pops and I hit Waitts for the first time. Have been told about some nice browns, so we thought we would give it a shot. Ended the day with five browns, biggest was 23in., smallest was 18in. Also caught and released three bows that were around 12in. Funny day, I caught all the browns, and Pops caught all the bows. We just trolled circles around this small lake. All the browns were caught in the same spot, and so were the bows, different ends of the lake. I guess we kept circling thinking we might pick something up somewhere else. Two other boats showed us their catch. They had more fish, but they were all around 14in. They were using wedding rings tipped with worms. We were using minnows on top. I had on a bright chart. with purple and orange (overcast). This crankbait had a real wide darting side to side action. Pops put on a minnow, same colors only a much tighter wiggle, and the fish wouldn't touch it. Maybe it was just my day, maybe the lure, who knows? Surface temp. was 52-53, good time for trout, they were spunky. Looking forward to smoked trout tonight!
