I've heard everyone rave how good it was the past few days that I had to see for myself. I took my daughter out on the boat to see what all the talk was about. We trolled for 2 hours with wedding rings w/ worm, then power bait ( chartreuse) with only 2 bites each. I talked with as many people as I could and all said it was a slow day, but those that did catch any said "only pan size caught". I think in my opinion that people just like to talk about how good they did the day before to make the trip more worth while in their own minds. I can tell you we caught nothing! I like the lake and it used to produce some good size fish, but what happen, and what is the new secret? Good luck and keep the waters clean.

I shore fished spanaway lake today (the 16th) too, the only thing i got was a tiny small mouth. Could have just been a slow day with the weather and such.

I have fished Spanaway @ last 10 times this May. I have limited out each time. Try this, Fish in the middle of the late or towards the south end. 5' leader behind swivel & small slip sinker.Gomagatsu#4 red hook..about 1' of nite crawler (need to leave just a small tail of nite crawler so when u trowl it spins. Put 1 red salmon egg on hook after the crawler, slide the egg up so hook is exposed..Either slow troll or stop-n-go troll. I find the stop - n go trol works best for me..good luck
