stopped by rufus on the way to conconully with my family on mothers day weekend. thought I'd give it a shot fishing for one of the big fish i keep hearing about here. the weather was pleasant, but a bit brisk, but the wind wasn't blowing like it was last time we were here. we fished at the second landing from one of the 'fishing tables' set up there. nice set-up. i caught the guy in the photo the first half hour of fishing. he weighed in at just 3#,but was 18" long. a bit on the skinny side, but a decent fish all the same. my daughter caught another about 15" and about 20 oz. we fished about another hour or so with not much action, so we packed up and headed north. i really like this place and bubba and i will be bring the canoe back and try again next weekend.
