hit McMurray early, was on the lake by 5:20 AM. Some surface activity, tried a number of buggers, soft hackles, nymphs with a couple of takes. Moved inshore about 7:30, there seemed to be a lot of midge activity, so decided to try some chronimids for the first time. Never fished them before, but had a take on my first cast. Missed the fish, so kept at it for another 30 minutes, and had another take about 1/2 hr. later. Missed the 2nd. one, but it certainly increased my confidence that I could get this figured out sooner or later. Need to schedule a trip in the evening to see if it improves my luck. A fun morning experimenting with a new technique. I'll be back....
