OK, a quick report before most even get up today. I have noticed this week that shore fishermen using powerbait may fish for hours for nothing, then for about an hour everyone around will catch fish.

I have not seen monsters caught, but some 3 pounders for sure. Some were caught on orange, some on Captain America, some on a white.

So before work started today at 0600 hours, I decided to head down to the shore for a little fishing at 5:30. I found the fish quite eager to hit a black multicolored spoon, fished jig style. I released two fish about 18" and had a much larger fish, maybe 28" or so, that jumped the hook at the shore. Oh ya, and I hit these three fish in 15 minutes - I had a safety meeting to run on the job site and I need to get back to the field office. (LOL)

I know, it is a tough job, but somebody has to do it.

Have you noticed if the hour that everyone catches fish coincides with the peak activity shown in the solunar tables?

ndn, over the last 40+ years of fishing, I have concluded that Solunar Tables are not a very useful tool for fresh water. I have also noticed that over that 40+ years the theories behind the tables have changed substantially.

So, to answer your question, I don't have a single copy of the Tables to compare to, so I could not even guess as to the tables predictions and the actual bite. I would suggest that more likely a school moved through the area at the time.

If you wish, PM me and I'll try to track the times and days and you can compare to what ever version of the Solunar Tables you use.
