Had a day of fishing planned out for a few guys from work and myself. Weather reports earlier in the week called for rain and wind...so we were up in the air whether the guys were going or not. Started loading my truck around 0330 am, and looked around the sky for clouds, only to see the moon and stars. Turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day. Right up until we decided to leave...then it rained...and rained...and rained.

Got to Swofford around 0630, sun was out with limited cloud cover. Air temp. was around 55F. Didn't bring my depthfinder so I couldn't get the water temperature. I would have to guess it was right around 60F.

Had a friend with me that hadn't been fishing in 15 years, so we started out with just a worm and bobber. I caught one 12" rainbow within about twenty minutes. My friend caught one about half an hour later. When they stopped biting on the worm and bobber, dropped the line to the bottom with a slip weight and a small corky to keep the worm off the bottom.

I had my new fly rod, so I hopped on my pontoon and headed out. Couldn't catch anything casting, so I trolled around for a bit. Caught and released four decent rainbows. I don't know what was up with the fish today...but everyone decided to fight for their lives. Even the small 10" one fought like crazy. Good times.

Of the four we all caught fish. Although one of us only caught a teeny perch about four inches long. Overall it was a good day on the water to be just hanging out, having a couple barley pops getting out lines wet.
