Got on the water at 6:15 am and hit the lillies along SE shore. Another boat was fishing same area so I hopped across to the SW lilly beds and worked my way S. I reeled in something that I thought was a snag, but turned into a fish I had never seen before. It looked like a pike, but only about 8 or 9 inches. One of the locals on the lake said it was a grass pike. I went all the way down to where the Little Spokane R empties out and got a 2 pound(?) Largemouth. Worked all the way around to the boat launch with no other bites. Decided to go up to the N end and work the W shore down, with the wind at my back (maybe 5-7 mph). I stopped at a bed of weeds floating about 20 feet off shore and worked down that, and hooked a nice 3 pound Largemouth. After that, I got 2 perch when I put a worm on the same jig, but no more bass. Left the lake at 11 am.

Its a Grass Pickerel. We catch them fairly often there. They get up to 12-14 inches is all but are cool looking fish. http://skychasers.net/grass_pickerel.htm

A big thanks to the unknown angler who gave us a jump start there Saturday night.!! Time for a new truck battery....
