Overcast day, took my wife and kids out to Lk. Goodwin for our first time fishing this lake. Luckily the overcast sky held back the jet skiers pretty well. We went in at Wenburg state park launch, and then proceeded left, anchored at what I think is the South end of the lake, since I had the kids with me I figured we would plunk some power bait. Even for them power bait is boring, so after about 15 minutes we pulled it up and switched over to wedding rings. The Oh-so famous wedding ring, which I've never used. I can't remember the color we used, but we set two rods up for the kids, and tipped them with a bit of worm. About 15 minutes later my daughter reeled in her 2nd rainbow trout ever. She was VERY happy and now wants to come back to go camp here. A little bit later my son caught what I'm pretty sure must be a Kokanee. It was VERY bright silver with slight black spotting along the spine. This was a much more hard body fish and had shoulders even for only about 13 inches. The fish my daughter caught was definitely a soft bellied planter at about 8 inches. My son lost another one at the boat. All in all it was a great time for me and them. Water was calm, 3 or 4 other boaters. Saw one guy with some nice looking bass. coming off the far side of the lake straight across from the launch.
30 ft. of water, trolled at about 1.8 mph.

Great to hear you and the family had a good time. It's a good lake, a bit big, but fishing can be good there.

Just had a look at the pic. That's a very nice fish your son has there. Very bright as well as you mentioned.
