Arrived at Swofford Pond at around 0700 am. Overcast, air temperature was about 55F. No electronics this trip...no water temperature. Probably safe to say it was right around 55F-60F. Water was slightly stained with visibility to about 3 feet.
Off loaded the pontoon and tied on a reddish-brown woolly bugger or leech variant (sorry, can't remember the name of it right off...) and began trolling across the pond. Trolled for about two hours, caught and released 5 rainbows anywhere from 10"-12".
Got bored with trolling, and tied on a #12 black ant. Tossed it in and around brush, under overhangs and around cattails. Not takers minus one small bluegill.
Floated around the pond looking at bugs and vegetation...decided to tie on the first fly and troll some more. Caught another 5 rainbows...this time keeping three of them for dinner.
All in all nice day on the water. Didn't rain, slight breeze...good day for fishing.
