I know its a little late but oh well.Just got back from Curlew. That'll follow soon. Anyway, very impressed with this little lake you all have out there just north of Cheney. Fished last Wednesday for a few hours ended up being just a scouting first few hours. Thursday 29th. Kevinb and I fished all day. Ended up seeing 8 Tigers.Hooked up and lost 2 way back on the south end BURIED in the weeds. Ran a weedless buck across the surface of the water.I kinda got buried in the weeds on accident. Didn't know it was that weedy.Anyway first cast had a huge explosion at the surface. Wasn't a Musky. No b.s here,a largey somewhere in the 5-10 lb range. Did a nice dance across the water and threw the hook. A couple casts later same thing on this was a Ski, low 30 inch range exploded ran me into the weeds got her within 6 feet of the boat. And lost her at the boat. Threw one more time and had a real solid follow to the boat couldn't get her to commit..Later into the day we experienced another one of those Muskies skimming the surface. Mouth open, came right up to the boat and then she like one-eyed us and then shot off. Pretty cool. Ended up catching a nice 3 lb or so Largie on a 7 inch Musky crank (Photo) and about 15 crappies all under the 9 inch minimum size limit. All fish were released...Like I said extraordinary fishery on this lake...I heard a rumour of a 51 incher caught out there..hmmm...all the fish we saw were all well under 45 inches..could be a fish story there I think...
****Remember 50 inch limit, Let em' grow so they can grow***
