6/3/2008 8:08:00 AMThe whole lake is "alive" with fish right now. Both bridges, Cedar river, Jqaunita bay is loaded with fish and bait. Start there and have fun!

--YES! Fish Sheridan Beach right outside the Kenmore launch in 30 feet of water. Get ready and hold on! The only problem is that lake is so polluted :-(

onebadrussian: I've been fishing the mid-section of the lake - particularly the 520 bridge & the east side, both north & south of that bridge. Next week, I plan to start fishing more of the southern part of the lake - near the mouth of the Cedar & the southern part of Mercer Island. I've been holding off going down there, mainly because of the murky water, caused by the flooding rivers (mainly the Cedar). I'm not too familiar w/ the northern part of the lake, but I'd listen to SlimySlab & kutt. One I'd add is the area near the mouth of Thorton Creek - it's on the west side of the lake, just north of Sand Pt.
eaglecadd: Peoples likes vary. From what I've heard, needlefish, weddingrings, plugs all seem to work well. I tend to favor herring, however, bait has its problem. It can foul easy, come off, etc. The upside of lures is, they usually 'stay on' & run true, which relieves you from wondering & worring if your bait's still on & if you're trolling 'anything'.

6/4/2008 2:35:00 PMCLK.... compliments on the nice fish. I was raised fly fishing the mouth of Thornton Creek and fishing the creek up near Nathan Hale High School. Caught some impressive fish in the creek and many large ones like the 20" you have pictured. It is a great feeder source to the lake. Have you tried pulling spoons yet? I fish for really big bows and browns each year in Georgian Bay (Ontario Canada) where we take our biggest fish (7 - 15 lbs) on long narrow thin metal spoons (called silver fox). I have a few extras if you would like to try a few. Trolled at about 3 mph they get the attention of bigger fish and I doubt the local fish have ever seen one of these spoons. Let me know and I will get you a couple to try.
But those are some nice fish... made me smile seeing the darker cutt as that is what the cutts look like in Thornton Creek...

Thanks for the offer - that's cool of you! I haven't really spent much time trolling spoons yet. Perhaps a few hours here & there w/ some needlefish, but I haven't seriously worked any yet. I've used spoons w/ great success in other lakes - years ago, my favorite was a brass & silver Canadian Wonderer (boy, I caught alot of trout on those!). I don't think they make them anymore, but Dick Nite has a similar spoon, which is also very popular. I think later in the summer, I'll experiment w/ some spoons & spinners. I'll look on the internet for that 'Silver Fox'.
I think I'm going to try some fishing near Thornton Creek next week. If & when I do - I'll post how it was.
