Well just got back from Rufus yesterday. We were there from mon till wed. The weather was great mon and early tue but then the rains came in. It sprinkled pretty much from tue around 300 till 1000. We were prepared though so it was not too bad. The fishing was slower than my first trip over. We definitely had to work for our fish. We caught 10 on Monday in the evening, On tue we caught 19 fishing from 830 till 230. And on wed we caught 9 fishing from 800 till1030. We kept one fish each night to eat and it was fantastic. Our best fishing was on the bar using anything near the bottom, jigs, spinners and grubs. The current was really ripping so we did best just drifting, if you anchored it was tough to keep you lures down low. We caught some nice fish, most were in the 4-5 pound range with a few 2 pounders mixed in. I caught my biggest trout so far it was a 6 pound 10 oz. fatty. But was a far cry from the 10 pounders my buddy caught on our last trip. I also caught the biggest squaw fish I have ever see, it was a 4 pound 10 oz pig. Lets just say he won't be eating anymore fish from Rufus, I think something else will be dining on him. We still had a great trip and caught some good fish. Also, we did see a lot of small fish jumping, and I have heard from a site member that they let some small pens out into the lake, and now I believe it, so next fall and winter should be fun. Have a good one.
