Oh my! Left my graduation rehearsal at school and headed out to Beaver Lake at 9:00 this morning. First cast and BAM! 5lb native rainbow trout hit my #1 gold blue fox spinner!

FIRST CAST!!!!! right from shore

dang! first big trout ever caught out at Beaver! They DO EXIST people!

Fun day! get out there and try your luck

How long is that fish? Mine looked bigger and fatter and was only 4lbs.

Not sure what you guys are arguing about... All arguments aside, the fish is big, especially because it's not a triploid. Getting a planter rainbow that big in a suburban lake like beaver is like getting a 7 pound largemouth here. That trout isn't quite five pounds though, so I geuss you're both right.

LOL... we aren't argueing. What makes you think its not a trip? All the big natives I have caught there were long and slender. All the trips I have caught there were fat like a football like this one.

It is a trip, and it is probably 3 pounds, a nice fish none the less. I dont think people realize how big a 5 pound rainbow is. We were at rufus without a scale and we thought we were catching 5 pounders. Went back the next time with a scale and those fish we thought were 5 pounders were 3.5 to 4 pounds, trout area little decieving in their weights. but like i said nice fish none the less.

nice 3pounder thts a trip look at its over sized belly it has a eating prob like most trips do lol..... nice fish anyways!!!! for a trout
