Fish the lake today (Thursday) until about 3:00. Did well earlier in the morning, before the sun came out strong. Caught 5, released 2 (both appx 16") & kept 3. Aside from these, I also lost two - one broke my leader & the other simply got away - plus had many take downs which came to nothing.

The first fish caught was the most fun - a large rainbow (first pic). He's about as big as you can catch & keep (legally) in Lk Wash. Great fighter, too. He weighed in at just over 3 1/2lbs. Kept 2 nice cutts. Second pic shows the 2 cutts w/ the rainbow (later in the morning).

With no breeze or chop on the lake (was perfect waterskiing water) - and once the clouds cleared & the sun came beating down, the bite seemed to fade. So I called it a day.

Fished yesterday too. Did well early in the morning - caught & released 3 (14-16 inchers) - then it just went dead for me. Nothing the rest of the day.

Cheers!

Man, are you ever "dialed in". Good for you! Great seeing you out there today. Your mouth is going to drop when you see all of the bait and fish at Juanita. Try both the south and north edges of the bay. Talk soon CK- JC

Most of the fish I've kept, have gone to some of my neighbors. I've mentioned to them about the health concerns & shown them the page, from the WDFW regs, concerning consumption.

Having said that - the fish tastes great. One neighbor, of Thai descent, has prepared the fish for me in several different ways, with different accompaining sauces. One time, they deep fried it, & it was fantastic. Other times, they made 'fish cakes' w/ cucumber sauce & rice - very good! Now, I don't know any of these receipes, but I can recommend filleting them, & pan frying the fillets with olive oil, butter & Johhny's seasoning salt. Another thing I'm going to look into getting is a smoker. I hear the cutts are great smoked, plus, once smoked, it's conveniant & you snack on it & anytime. Great w/ cheese! Also, most of the cutts I've caught, have had pink meat. A few have had pale white meat. Finally, I look forward to catching some nice perch this summer - they're really good eating fish - maybe the best in the lake. Also, look forward to some bass fishing in the fall. Not sure how the bass tastes, but I know they fight like hell. First fish I caught from Lk Wash, about 2 months ago, was a smallie.

bel83: I've been fishing from a boat - mostly between 520 & I-90, on the east side.

JC: Great seeing you & Brian today. I picked up only one more after I last saw you. Was pretty slow. My guess is - tomorrow will be good action. Best of luck!

Cheers!
