Went out for bass. Water was way up in the trees and really cold. Couldn't find the fish or couldn't get to them. Tried worms, jigs, spinnerbaits, cranks, etc. No Luck. I Froze my butt off the whole time. Only caught one weird fish. It had legs...strange. Tons of baby perch swimming around. Second year in a row like that. No baby bass, all baby perch. Don't know what that's all about.

Tradition has problems lately. Fishing pressure has increased dramatically. When the water is high the bass hide in the brush and you can't coax them out. A few years back there were many many small bass. Last time there I caught absolutely nothing. It gets really weed choaked by July.

Ah yes, Tradition Lake. That was where I caught my first big bass many years ago - a 6-4.

Oh yeah, I let him go on his happy way after a few pics. He had some meaty legs. No wonder people eat them. I didn't know that that's big for a bullfrog. That's the first one I've ever held. He was too cool!

Yeah, it's too bad about the bass. Maybe the people fishing it haven't been releasing them. Nothing like shooting yourself in the foot. A few years ago out there I'd see baby bass like crazy, Never any baby perch. Would catch a lot of small bass, with the occasional big one mixed in. Maybe the bass haven't spawned yet. Anyone think that's a possibility?

Fished it lately Bob?

Either you have teeny hands...or that's a big frog!! :-)

Never seen one that big around here. I was out night fishing on Ohop some time back, just turned the lantern down and kept looking behind me for any critters or tweakers sneaking up on me. This frog about 5 feet away in the cattails started croaking...nearly gave me a heart attack! Stupid frog! :-D
