My wife gave the day to go fishing as a Father's Day gift, so I headed down to St. Clair in my Tracker based on all the good reports I'd read. A very nice like, lots of cover, laydowns, flooded brush, though a lot deeper and with steeper banks than i anticipated. Fishing was a little tougher than I expected too. Caught about 6 or 7 dinks (the largest at maybe a pound) on a black/blue Sweet Beaver and a gold/black back Rapala DT-4. Got a couple good bites on a black/blue jig and black craw trailer (one pulled off the skirt and another actually straightened the hook on my jig), but never managed to stick 'em. I'd love to come back more often and do some more exploring of all the cover (especially since the speed limit keeps the skiers away), but it's hard to justify using all the gas for the hour and a half drive from Bremerton.
