It was a perfect evening for fishing. We trolled for trout the first hour and hooked up with 5 rainbows. All were small, between 8 and 11 inches, and were caught on a super duper lure and Sammi's home made lure, the "Sammi Bammi" lol It looks kinda like a wedding ring.

About 8pm we headed to the perch spot and dropped our lines in about 20 feet of water, where it took all of a minute to get the first hit. Then it was non stop action until dark. We used our drop shot set ups with jigs set from 1-4 feet off the bottom. Color didn't seem to matter much as long as it had a bit of worm on it, they hit it. And usually within 5 seconds of hitting the bottom! The perch in this lake are expert bait stealers and hard to hook sometimes, but we managed to get a couple dozen into the boat before heading home. Only 2 were under 9 inches.

The water quality seems excellent in Diamond and all the fish are fat and have bright vivid colors. We will be back again soon.
