Got on the water around 8 a.m. and headed to the north end of the lake. There was a moderate N.E. wind in the morning gusting to about 15 mph. Several fish were marked at about 25', just above the thermocline. The surface temperature was 68-72 degrees. Bottom temperature was 61 degrees at 35 ft.
Steve fished a black Chironomid and did quite well, landing about 17 fish. I used a leech and hooked and missed about 5 fish, with one breaking off my 3x leader. I landed 4 averaging 14-17". All the fish were rainbows and were in good physical shape.
The breeze stopped about 12:30 pm and the sun got real hot. Mid afternoon the air temperature was in the high 80's. At 1:30 we called it a day and got out of the sun.
