Just so you know, your website has this lake in both Stevens and Ferry counties. It is definitely in Stevens. Only by about 2 miles, but it is definitely Stevens. Pierre is a beautiful lake with a variety of fish but my wife and I were looking for bass.. Not what you think to look for only a couple of miles from Canada, but they are there. If you know what you are doing, you can catch the small bass (6"-9")until you can't stand it anymore. There are bigger ones here and the water is clear enough that you can quite often see them. However, they are well schooled and are not tricked into biting easily. We did get three decent ones during our stay with the largest going about 2 lbs. We saw bigger ones swimming around and literally tried everything in our tackle box on one bruiser without success. I wouldn't make the drive for the quality of the bass, but the beauty of the setting and peaceful camping more than makes up for the frustration.
