Spent a few hours on Chambers Saturday afternoon, fished from 1pm until about 5pm and then had to get home. The bass were few and far between but managed to get 3 to the float tube. Started off with a white skirted spinner (single silver willow blade) and caught one, almost hit 2 pounds. Worked the pads and didn't get any more bites off the spinner, and then the rain started coming down. Switched over to plastics - junebug and chartreuse 6" lizard - and started getting more attention but not much more than little taps. Managed to drag two more out of the pads, both in the 2 pound range. Not a bad day fishing but I've had much better days at Chambers.
The water is starting to get VERY manky - I was covered in that famous Chambers sludge within 30 minutes of being in the water. The carp are loving it - saw several in the 3' range cruising by me, sucking up as much as they could.
Water was nice and warm, so they should be active. I hit it during the worst time of the day, with wind and rain coming through in shifts. Should pick up as the moon fills in. Only two other people were on the lake and neither of them had much luck either. Very slow day, but it beats cleaning out the garage!
