Vacationed for five days last week with the family and all had good success fishing. Kids caught decent numbers and size of Rainbows off the pier in the evening and lots of small bass during the day. Didn't see any Tiger Musky until the last day (4th) when the weather changed. Day started out cool, cloudy, strong breeze until about 2 pm when sun broke through and wind shifted to the SW, very strong.
Missed a 40+" Tiger using a large orange spinner bait off a bar - saw the fish, set the hook before he had it! Rookie!
Less than 30 minutes later my son hooked and released a nice 38" Tiger in a weedy bay using a small Bass spinner (red, black skirt) on a light spinning rod/reel.
Both fish came within an hour of the strong wind shift. I've fished this lake the last three years during the same time and have always had good luck on the Muskies when strong winds have picked up - middle of the day, bright sunshine, no problem.
Fun lake to fish and take the family to for a nice short vacation.
