7/7/2008 6:15:00 PMMusky can be caught in a variety of different depths at different times of the year as you probably know. They are an ambush predator just like bass so sometimes both species of fish water overlap. The bigger musky are never to far from deep water (15-20+). Muskyhunter and myself were out on the water on Saturday and saw a 40" fish in about 5' of water with a drop off to 20-30 feet about 15 yards away from where the fish was at. Also, from what I have read a lot of musky have been caught on bucktails this year. Granted big rapala's and crankbaits work to, but it seems that bucktails have been quite effective. Hope this helps and good fishing
