Since it is my week off, I decided I needed to sneak in another trip to Dog Lake in between trips to Seattle. I knocked them dead today. I caught my limit in very little time (under an hour). I was once again fishing along the highway twelve side of the lake, using pink power eggs and about 1.5 feet of leader. There was a bit of a breeze today, but the temperature was very comfortable (70's). There were quite a few people fishing by boat/ pontoon boat, and a few others along the bank. Everyone I saw today was catching fish.
Fish and Wildlife finally managed to get into the lake after the harsh winter and stock it last week. They stocked it twice, once with 1.6 pound triploids and the other time with a few thousand planters. No tiploids today :-( but a guy fishing next to me claimed to have caught a 22 inch triploid. He also said it weighed 2 pounds. Based on my deductions, a two pound rainbow usually equates to about 17 inches... I never did see the fish.
Nonetheless, a gorgeous productive day in the mountains. Forgot the camera.... again (dang!)
