Haven't been to Cassidy in nearly 2 years fishing for Crappie. Nothings changed. As sure as the sun goes down; the crappie are thick. I got on the water about 8pm and fished til after 10pm or so. I caught 12 last night in about an hour. Tonight I caught 30 before I tried new things. I put on a Berkely Power Maggot and in 15 minutes I caught one crappie. I took that maggot off and I caught 4 in the next 15 minutes. So much for that crap. Ive never been a fan of Berkely power bait and Gulp and Gulp Alive...Bla bla ba..Its good for trout and that's about it.

I was using a 1/16 oz white jig head with gold hook and a white twister tail. At dark I switched to a black twister tail and did just about as well. I would say I caught less fish but they stuck the bait much harder. That could have to do with the sun going down more so than the color. You decide on that one.

I caught 1 that may have made 9" but I let it go regardless. All the rest were 5-8 inches. This lake needs to be cleaned out. Slots were on some lakes but this one needs to have it lifted for maybe a year or so to clean out the small fish. Maybe its just stunted.....

Good fishing

YeahI agree. But have you noticed that the perch are diminishing, I used to catch 50 or more perch a day. I can barely even catch a perch anymore. IDK its wierd. I usally catch crappie and bluegill now. Ocassional 3 lb bass

The WDFW definitely needs to get rid of the size limit on crappie @ Cassidy. There's not enough food in that lake to support all of those dinks.
I'm trying to decide where to go this afternoon. It will either be Cassidy or Stevens. Ski boat traffic on Stevens will be the deciding factor.
Cassidy is one of the most scenic lakes in Snohomish county. The shoreline is too swampy for real estate developers to pack a bunch of houses around it. Because if this, lawn fertilizer doesn't leech into the lake and cause the infamous green slime that plagues most of the other lakes. You can actually bounce a jig off the bottom and it won't come back with a green blob of goo on it. Very nice!
