Haven't been to Cassidy in nearly 2 years fishing for Crappie. Nothings changed. As sure as the sun goes down; the crappie are thick. I got on the water about 8pm and fished til after 10pm or so. I caught 12 last night in about an hour. Tonight I caught 30 before I tried new things. I put on a Berkely Power Maggot and in 15 minutes I caught one crappie. I took that maggot off and I caught 4 in the next 15 minutes. So much for that crap. Ive never been a fan of Berkely power bait and Gulp and Gulp Alive...Bla bla ba..Its good for trout and that's about it.

I was using a 1/16 oz white jig head with gold hook and a white twister tail. At dark I switched to a black twister tail and did just about as well. I would say I caught less fish but they stuck the bait much harder. That could have to do with the sun going down more so than the color. You decide on that one.

I caught 1 that may have made 9" but I let it go regardless. All the rest were 5-8 inches. This lake needs to be cleaned out. Slots were on some lakes but this one needs to have it lifted for maybe a year or so to clean out the small fish. Maybe its just stunted.....

Good fishing

Joe
