I've heard a lot about Mineral Lake so wife and I thought we'd try it. July 12th. We fished from 6:30am to 8:30pm. With a couple time outs for eating and rest. We trolled with wedding rings, mepps spinners, & lures. We anchored and fished with bobbers, using worms, power bait, maggots and eggs. We fished the surface but we mostly fished near the bottom--fish finder said that's where they were lurking. Only caught one in all that time. Counted 42 boats on the water at one time. I'm thinking this place is about fished out, as many of the people live there from April to Dec. The daytime weather was warm to hot, but nice at night.
But you can't beat the spectacular beauty of the area and the warmth and friendliness of the residents. Nice place to camp and have fun. Get into Butch's weekend derby. Just ask around you'll find him.
