Well been to Downs Lake several times already this year, so should write a report. The trout have been doing great and the last couple weeks the perch are starting to come around.
Our main goal was the Largemouth Bass, we started fishing about 7 pm and fished until dark. Had a great time , we caught and released 9 bass, 6 that were in the slot. Spinning rig with worm hook and a 4 inch white grub did the trick. Were fishing in the thickest muck back in the shallows and the water would just explode. One of the greatest things do when fishing is to hear a good largemouth bass explode out of the water after your grub or whatever you may be using. We did miss several bass, check with Chad. Hey also I watched Ron with plastic worm catch bass from the shore near the camp ground.
Will be going back in a couple weeks to find the perch.
