Stayed at Steamboat Rock State Park from July 25th - 27th. Fished all 3 days during the afternoon for about 2 or 3 hours mostly on our boat. Carp were like rats in the water here and all over the lake. Splashes about every 5 minutes. Bass fishing was pretty slow at times, but the smallies were hitting pretty well. About 2 fish an hour and most fish averaged between 1 and 2.5 lbs. On the 27th our boat had some problems so we fished from shore on a point near our campsite using purple and silver Booyah Boogiebaits and white and chartreuse spinners. Landed 3 LMB about 3.5 - 4 lbs a pop. I don't eat any bass, but my cousin said they were decent so I kept one of the smaller SMB (picture) for him to fry up. Never got around to cooking it so he tossed it in his freezer for later consumption. Water temp was about 75 and everything we caught was on top.
